Mother Giuseppina Vannini Declared a Saint by Pope Francis

A moment of great joy and blessing for the Daughters of St. Camillus and the entire Camillian family. Mother Giuseppina Vannini, the founder of the Daughters of St. Camillus, was solemnly declared a Saint by Pope Francis during the Canonization Ceremony held at St. Peter's Square, Vatican City.
Mother Josephine Vannini dedicated her entire life to the service of the sick, the poor, and the suffering. Deeply inspired by St. Camillus de Lellis, the patron saint of the sick and hospitals, she founded the Daughters of St. Camillus with the mission to serve the sick with the heart of a mother. Throughout her life, she embodied compassion, faith, and love in her tireless care for those in pain. Her legacy continues to live on through the Daughters of St. Camillus, who today serve in hospitals, healthcare institutions, and mission centers around the world. In his homily, Pope Francis praised Saint Vannini's life as a shining example of Christian service and mercy. Her life, marked by miracles and healings, stands as a testimony to divine love and selfless dedication. Thousands of faithful from across the world - including Camillian sisters, priests, and lay people -gathered at St. Peter's Basilica to celebrate this blessed occasion.
